Our "staycation"

Well, we had the most fun vacation....we stayed right here in Little Rock at our house! Bucky took off almost all week and we just did things around the city. Bucky did not get his dream vacation which would be to sit in his rocker with either the remote or playstation control in his hand. But he was a good sport being drug around everywhere :) I did let him have alot of down time! Part of our vacation was with the Burguieres...then they left and here is how we spent the next week......
Monday...was truly a stay at home day, Bucky had a stress test done but that was all the excitement for the day. I cought up on laundry from the weekend. We took a walk around the neighborhood that evening after dinner. Tuesday we headed to the farmer's market downtown. We had never been, it was alot of fun seeing all the fresh fruit and veggies! Brinley and Bronson got to pick out a necklace from one of the vendors.We then rode the long trolley over the river. The kids loved it.We ate at The flying fish again ( so healthy) and walked sround this cool (well hot in temperature) park around the market area. It had slides and climbing things that came our of rocks...really neat. That night we brought the kids to parent's night out at church and Bucky and I headed back to YaYa;s to eat...this time with a reservation. It was as good as always. We really went back to get the dessert we had passed on the Friday before. It was good but very cholocaty (is that a word?).
Afterwards we just sat on one of the benches and listened to the live music and watched the waterfall feature. It was awesome just being together alone.
Well, Wednesday we took the kids to the ice skating rink and Bucky and Brin and Bron skated while I entertained the others. There was a day care group there and this little red headed kid kept coming up and asking us questions and wanting us to watch him. He was also pestering Brinley. He even cam over and put his arm around her when I was trying to take a pic. Bucky wasn't too happy with him! Poor boy..probably doesn't get much attention at home. Bronson loved ice skating, although he was mostly just drug around by Bucky. That afternoon we drive to a little town outside Littel ROck that had the only theater playing Ice age. We were the only ones in it!!! This was a very good thing because Aaron was not on his best behavior.
Thursday we brought the little guys to mother's day out and the rest of us climbed mount Pinnacle! It was so beautiful up there! i was fearful for my life a few brief moments but over all it was not too bad of a climb! The kids did great. Bucky had to caryy Bronson down a ways just because we were fearful of him falling. We all came home after that and rested before I went to pick up AnnaB and Aaron. That night we got Abby our sitter to watch the 2 younger ones while Bucky and I took Brin and Bron swimming. It was nice just being out there not having to worry if someone might drown! It was a great week!! We hated that Bucky had to go back to work Friday. WHy can't the retirement years be on the front end?
